We were excited to move into our new (to us) home. When we first entered, it was complete chaos; we were gobsmacked!! A hideous brown interior with marks on the walls everywhere from what I could assume was a tornado of power tools throughout the house.

But.. we kept hearing voices in the distance whispering “Call the Dutchman” as if we were meant to fulfill some divine prophecy.

And so we did. Mark showed up and the rest is history. All the damage from various traumas of the home’s past had been wiped clean. The nauseating color scheme was replaced by a bright glowing white worthy of the angels. It was a frenzy of brushes and paint and some would say a thing of beauty.

Now when I enter the home, I feel as though a giant weight has been lifted. All thanks to Mark and his son who made it all happen in record breaking time (according to the Guinness Book of World Records… probably).

We needed to get rid of our popcorn ceiling and to have our bedrooms repainted. Our neighbours recommended Mark, so we decided to contact him to do the job.

We are extremely happy with the ceilings and the overall painting.
Mark finished the job on time as we had a deadline to meet.

The reason I didn’t put 5 stars is because we asked a special mountain design for one of the rooms and the result is not as clean as the painting in the other rooms – we can see some tape marks on the wall. It was a special request and since we paid extra for it, we were expecting the lines to be clear like in the other rooms.

That being said, we are very happy with what was done. We have other painting jobs to do and we will contact Mark again!

We have a sea can for storage and it really wasn’t looking that appealing. Mark was able to completely transform the way it looked. After a very thorough prep all sides were painted. It looks better than new, and was done quick. Highly recommend.

Mark – The Painting Dutchman – provided an excellent service. We initially contacted him regarding a ceiling repair due to an ‘attic rain’ situation. We did not want an extensive and invasive repair as we first need to ensure the actual problem has been remedied. Mark was able to repair the ceiling to a nearly unnoticeable status. We went from there to having him come to paint three rooms for us. We did the prep – he arrived and painted two coats on all three rooms in 4.5hrs. His price and workmanship are worth the 5 stars. I was slightly worried about him not having floor covers under his paint pails and roller trays. I would have been more at ease with more care there, though there was no problem.

He did a fantastic job spray painting the ceiling (a task other painters were hesitant to tackle). The high walls in the entrance were a challenge that Mark managed without any issues. Drywall touchups were professionally repaired and all cleanup was completed. Mark was excellent to work with and I would recommend him to anyone for their painting projects.
